Steve Carter - Senior Pastor

I’ve been the senior pastor at Calvary since 2004. It has been an unbelievable journey, through the tears and the cheers.

I mean this with all my heart, there is nothing else I would rather do,

then serve my Savior and Lord.

My wife Kim and I have been married for 41 amazingly blessed years, we have two daughters and 3 amazing grandchildren.

God has been with us on the mountain top of victories and in the valley as we walked through the loss of many dear brothers and sisters in Christ. I have no idea what God has in store for us, but this I do know, I am going to press on, forge ahead, take baby steps and giant leaps each day, as I seek to follow my Savior.

Johnathon Jowers - Minister of Music & Media

Johnathon Jowers here, I have been a follower of Jesus for over 28 years, and have a passion for music, and sharing the Light of the Lord through my talents, skills, and gifts.

I have served at Calvary Baptist Church since 2008, and I've been a member here since 2003. I have recently moved from Student Minister to my current position of Music & Media and I am still excited to see what God is bringing to this church. Throughout my entire time here at Calvary I have been always been growing and involved in music to some capacity, and I'm grateful for everything that I've been taught and learned along the way so far.

I have a lovely wife of 15 years, Blythe, and two daughters who are in 4th and 8th grade at Meadow ISD (my alma mater). My wife works from home for a company called SAM-CS, and she does an amazing job for them!

I am your typical super nerd and love all things fantasy, from comic books, to D&D, and anime to Star Wars. But what I really love is worshiping and praising God, and teaching and leading other to to the same with their life, their hearts, and their actions.

I strive to live life by my favorite Bible verse in Matthew 5:16 - Therefore, let your light shine before all men, so that all may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

I'd love to meet you and have a conversation,

Shine Your Light!

Austin Peel - Youth Pastor

Hey everyone! I am Austin and I have the pleasure of being the youth pastor here at Calvary. I have been on staff at Calvary since 2023. Before my time here I was the youth pastor at FBC Cotton Center for two years. I have a huge heart for student ministry and I am super excited to help serve and train up the next generation of church leaders.

I have been married to my wonderful wife Lauren since September 2022. She has also been called to ministry and is excited to serve and lead the students here at Calvary.

We are currently working on our M.DIVs at Wayland Baptist University. Whenever I am able to find free time after school, I really enjoy playing golf, doing anything nerdy, or baking. I am also super extroverted, so more than anything I enjoy hanging out with people.

Cindy Valentine - Office Manager

Hi! I’m Cindy Valentine.

I’ve been the office Manager here at Calvary since 2018, I have done some form of Business Management/Finance most of my adult life so when the Lord opened the door for me to have an opportunity here, it was an easy choice to make. Some of my responsibilities include handling the financial aspects and paperwork, as well as making church documents and “normal” office work. I’m also able to pour into people who are in need almost daily in many different ways, and that’s the best part.

My favorite verse changes as the seasons of my life change but one that I always go back to is Romans 8:28, It gives me so much peace knowing that no matter what, I can see God’s hand at work for the good in any situation.

I am married to an awesome Godly man and we have two incredible adult sons. My husband and I have been married for 21 years. He has worked in the oilfield for almost 20 years and does a lot of woodworking as a hobby. He also loves to watch movies! Our oldest son graduated college and is serving in several areas of ministry in the surrounding communities and is heavily involved in the Baptist Student Ministries. Our youngest son just graduated High School and is working part time until he starts college. He loves to learn about everything and is excited to see what his future holds. Both of our sons are blessed with incredible musical gifts and both serve in music ministry in various ways, and we are so blessed to be their parents.

I love spending time with my family at home. We are all very busy and usually scattered around doing all kinds of things so when we can all be together we like to keep it simple. My family and I have amazing testimonies of what God has done in and through each of us.

I am blessed to serve at Calvary and would love to share with anyone willing to listen what we, as the body of Christ, can do together.
